Jazzara English Angora Rabbits

1991 was the year I purchased my first trio of English Angoras from Joyce Ayre in Western Australia.  I had seen my first Angora at an Agricultural Show in country Victoria and I fell instantly for this incredible looking rabbit.  For several years, I only kept Red Eyed Whites but in the past couple of years have increased the colour range to Smoke, Blue, Chocolate, Gold and Chinchilla.

I only breed for myself,  but do sell Top Quality Show Stock when I have them available.

After a long absence from the Rabbit Show Scene, we are returning in 2008.

Remember, before buying one of these beautiful and exotic animals, it is your responsibility to ensure you learn how to maintain their coats and welfare.  A full coated Angora is a magnificent sight but one that is neglected is not.  These rabbits are not pets for children unless the childs mother is a wool spinner, hairdresser or dog groomer.  It is the welfare of the Angora I am concerned with, so I am particular when selling any stock, however, I do understand they knot easily and people have busy lives.  I encourage any of my pet home buyers to please call me if they get into difficulties with grooming.  It is better for the rabbit to be clipped off every 6 weeks and be happy, than to end up a matted ball of wool on legs.  They are no different to owning a Poodle or Maltese that requires professional grooming every 6 weeks and with all the pleasure this beautifully placid rabbit brings you, they deserve that care.

I have seen too many over the years returned to me when the novelty wears off, in a matted, dirty state, so please, if you buy an Angora from me or anyone else and you find the grooming too much, please feel free to contact me.  They are a super high maintenance breed that requires a lot of grooming.  I am a professional dog groomer and have very reasonable rates for Angoras.  I am not here to criticise but to educate and help owners with all their care, so your Angora will have a happy and long life.
